CORE VALUES

Discipleship

Following Jesus’ command of discipleship

'And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

(Matthew 28:18-20)

Integrity

A life grounded in Biblical principles

'Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

(Colossians 2:6-7)

Servanthood

Serving God through serving others

'As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. '

(1 Peter 4:10-11)

Communion

Fellowship and community

'and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. '

(Hebrews 10:24-25)

Impact

Transforming marriages

'And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. '

(Romans 12:1-2)

Prayer

Continuously seeking God’s guidance

'But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. '

(Matthew 6:33)

Love

The unconditional love of God and for others

'Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. '

(1 John 4:7-9)

Empowerment

Equipping couples for their redemptive journey

'Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. '

(Hebrews 13:20-21)

SMALL GROUP COVENANT

Commitment to participation and attendance

I will commit to participating in and attending the small group gatherings, and I will notify them of any reasons that may arise that could affect this.

(Hebrews 10:24-25)

Openness and honesty

I will value the importance of being open and honest with one another, as it fosters accountability and support within the group.

(James 5:16)

Vulnerability and confidentiality in discussions

I am committed to creating a supportive environment within the group where confidentiality and vulnerability foster encouragement and growth.

(Proverbs 27:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Encouragement towards spiritual growth and Christlikeness

I am committed to continual growth in grace and knowledge, aligning with the goals of a supportive small group. (2 Peter 3:18)

Needs sensitivity and understanding towards others

I commit to being sensitive and understanding towards the struggles of others in the group and to offering encouragement while ensuring that we do not jeopardize the small group’s clear goal by involving transactions related to money. (Ephesians 4:2, Romans 15:1)

Assignments in preparation for gatherings

I commit to fulfilling my responsibilities and tasks within the small group, including those related to study course discussions and shared duties, with diligence and dedication, viewing them as service to the Lord. (Colossians 3:23-24)

Navigating conflict resolution and life-to-life journey

I commit to nurturing a healthy and supportive environment within the small group by resolving conflicts with humility and grace, making every effort to maintain peace and unity, and fostering our life-to-life journey together in love and understanding. (Romans 12:18, Matthew 18:15)

Timothies, committing to start a small group

I commit to learning and fostering a spirit of life-to-life journey and encouragement by creating my future small group, which will cultivate a community of growth and support anchored in the grace, love, and mercy of Jesus Christ. (2 Timothy 2:2, Philippians 2:4)
